One-to-one lessons
I help adult learners use English with more confidence and accuracy through conversation, error correction and grammar tuition. I can also help with comprehension, pronunciation and exam preparation. I offer lessons online using Skype or Zoom. Most of my lessons are one-to-one but I'm also planning to start small group classes.
Conversation lessons: £20 per hour
Practise your speaking skills with a native speaker. Each conversation lesson is on a different topic, such as sleep and dreams, the environment or fears and phobias. I will help you to build your confidence and fluency through practice. I will also help you to identify any mistakes you make so you can put them right and improve your accuracy.
Grammar lessons: £25 per hour
These lessons include focused grammar study and speaking practice. I love teaching grammar and I can explain it to you in a way that will help you to understand it more easily. Then you can practise using your knowledge in speaking activities. I will assess your strengths and weaknesses and then plan lessons according to what you want and need. I can also provide homework and advice for self study.
Reading/Listening lessons: £25 per hour
Another great way to learn is through reading texts and watching videos at the right level for you, and then discussing them in class. As well as improving your reading or listening skills, this also helps to improve your vocabulary. I can provide you with suitable materials to use either during lessons or for homework. I can also give you advice on how to work on your English between lessons.
Exam preparation: £30 per hour
I can help you if you are preparing for an exam, such as IELTS, First (FCE) or Advanced (CAE). Lessons include speaking practice, exam-style exercises and tips on exam techniques. I will also give you reading, listening and writing exercises for homework.

Pay for a block of five lessons in advance and save 5% on the price.

Testimonial
"First of all, Katie is a very kind and patient teacher. She recognises every mistake you make but always focuses on the most important thing. I started with conversation lessons and switched later to exam english. She was able to help me in every part of the exam and provided a lot of tips regarding grammar, vocabulary, writing etc.. What I appreciated most was her reliability. The corrections were very detailed and always provided with further explanations. She knows the exam process very well. Katie also has a very good general knowledge and you can talk to her about various topics. To sum up everything: A very friendly, humorous and an attentive teacher with in-depth knowledge of the English language. I can highly recommend her for any topic you are interested in!"
